Job Description

CAC Beardsley Community Farm seeks a motivated AmeriCorps member for a 10.5- month term. CAC Beardsley Community Farm is an urban non-profit community farm in Knoxville, TN that promotes food security and sustainable agriculture. Under the direction of the Farm Manager, Farm Assistant, and Green Thumb Director, this full-time service position will help tend to two-acres of productive cropland, and a two-acre orchard that includes fruit and nut trees, and berries. The service member will assist in all aspects of the urban community farm, including: cultivating vegetables and fruits, volunteer recruitment, developing and implementing educational programming for all ages, and event planning/fundraising. This is a full-time, paid position under AmeriCorps. Pay is $12,100, and includes health insurance and an education award of $5,550 at the end of service year (1,700 hours). Anticipated start date is January 5th, 2015, but may be flexible for the right candidate.
