Crowdfunding Specialist (Virtual / Part-Time Contractor)
Location: The US West Coast is preferred, but anywhere in the Continental United States will be considered.
Hours: 12-15 hrs/wk, with potential to become full time over the coming months
Rate: $15-$18/hr, depending on experience
StartSomeGood.com is a global crowdfunding platform designed to support social impact projects. StartSomeGood works with non-profits, social enterprises, community groups and individuals to help them run crowdfunding campaigns that rally their community and raise the funds they need to create tangible good. Our model of providing hands-on, customized feedback has helped us achieve one of the highest success rates of any crowdfunding platform. We strive to help changemakers connect their dream with the people and resources they need to make a difference.
We are a small, ambitious and fast-growing social enterprise startup with team members in Australia, the US, UK, Cambodia and the Philippines.
We are looking for a motivated and talented Crowdfunding Specialist based in the US to join our small and hard-working global team as we grow this innovative social enterprise. You will initially be a contractor but if all goes well we’d love you to be a permanent part of our team.

Requirements:
• Excellent written and spoken communication skills;
• Superb organizational skills and a demonstrated attention to detail;
• Demonstrated problem-solving skills;
• Access to a computer with video chat capabilities;
• Dependable access to the internet 24/7;
• Willingness and ability to work on weekends and evenings as needed;
• The ability to work independently and meet deadlines;
• Empathy and strong interpersonal skills; and
• Experience in customer service roles;
• Comfort with working as part of a virtual team.

The Role:
You will be a key member of the StartSomeGood global Venture Support Team. Your job will be to provide next-level customer service and support to projects setting up on our platform. You will provide an initial onboarding call and answer their questions as they go, providing smart advice based on our deep understanding of what works in order to help them succeed. You will provide this support in a way which is both efficient and according to our processes and allows you to express your personality and share your ideas.
You will receive hands-on experience and witness the energy of a rapidly growing, virtual social enterprise startup. You will be able to share your ideas and be part of our team decision-making process. You will be part of helping us achieve our mission of supporting ten thousand projects to change 50 million lives over the coming five years.
Your specific tasks will include, but not necessarily be limited to:
• Support individuals and organizations with customized guidance to create powerful crowdfunding campaigns and build new futures for their communities;
• Approve and assign new ventures ;
• Provide hands-on technical assistance;
• Staff online customer service chat rooms;
• Attend team conference / video calls and trainings (Our team is spread around the globe, and while the vast majority of your work will be during regular business hours, some calls may require you to participate as early as 6am or as late as 11pm);
• Actively participate as a member of a global virtual team through a variety of online tools and platforms;
• Gain first-hand fundraising knowledge about what works best for social enterprises and non-profits alike.
Your schedule will include 2-3 hours of work per day, Monday through Friday. Due to the nature of our work, you will be expected to split these hours throughout the day. You will also be expected to be available to check in and respond to email on weekends.
