Start Up! (www.startup-india.org) is an angel investor, incubator and consultant to social entrepreneurs. Based in New Delhi, India, we launch, strengthen, and scale social ventures that create lasting impact.
What We Do
As angel investors, we invest non-financial resources to incubate and scale social enterprises. Our investments of time and expertise are geared to put ventures quickly on their feet and make them scale and capital ready.
As an incubator, we offer affordable and customized consulting, coaching and training services for young or early-stage social entrepreneurs. We also incubate incubators!
Our investees and incubatees include a radio cab company – for women, by women – with women chauffeurs from resource-constrained communities of Delhi; a rural school of entrepreneurship for women micro-entrepreneurs in Maharashtra; a national market aggregator and brand for products made by persons with disabilities and a technology-enabled rural healthcare model for seasonal migrant labour of Rajasthan.

Call for Start Up!’s 2015 Batch of Fellows
Start Up! is looking for intrapreneurial Fellows to engage with leading social entrepreneurs in India . An ideal candidate would be someone keen to experience social change in action and immerse in developing new programs for Start Up! as well as sharpening projects led by social entrepreneurs in the field. He/she will have the opportunity to get involved across various internal and client-based projects that may be of his/her interest and/or skill area. Our clients are typically social entrepreneurs with innovative ideas in the fields of livelihoods, education, health and arts/culture.

Location: New Delhi
Duration: 3-6 months
Work arrangement: Full-time
Remuneration: Cumulative monthly stipend of upto INR 15,000
Responsibilities
1. Active engagement in building viable social change models for investees and incubatees of Start Up!
2. Supporting the Start Up! team in scale-related consulting projects for clients.
3. Development of case studies of investees to assess and evaluate the impact of their ventures and the impact of Start Up’s incubation and investment in their models.
4. Research and development of in-house incubation toolkits for start up social entrepreneurs.
5. Sector mapping to build intelligence on key trends, challenges, and players in the eco-system.
6. Building communication and social media strategies for Start Up! as well as its clients and partners.
Knowledge, skills and attributes required
• Willingness and enthusiasm to learn and engage with social change models; both for-profit and not-for-profit
• Self-starter with a strong work ethic
• Strong problem solving, analytical, and interpersonal skills
• Strong communication skills
• Ability to multi-task and handle deadlines across two or more projects
• Ability and willingness to adhere to timelines
• Excellent skills in MS office/equivalent applications, especially MS Excel, MS Word and MS PowerPoint
• Knowledge of written and spoken English; knowledge of additional Indian languages will be a plus
• Willingness to travel to rural India
Minimum education qualification and work experience requirements
• Fellows from academic backgrounds and training in business management, economics, international development and other related domains will be preferred.
• Prior experience with a social enterprise will be an advantage; Individuals with 3+ years of work experience will be given priority
