Full-Time Fellow/ Associate/ Program Manager
Job Description
Waste Capital Partners employs low-income individuals to environmentally process waste and then sell the compost to farmers. We are not content in creating a profitable venture, we create waste picker livelihoods, prevent 90% of waste we sort from being dumped, reduce greenhouse gases, and increase agricultural productivity. We are a Silicon Valley management company with operations in India and, soon, in other global locations. We just raised a round of finance and now seek ambitious impact-oriented team members to join our start-up.
We are expanding our team and require people to fulfill any number of responsibilities. These include:
– Designing solid waste management and compost systems for emerging market municipalities
– Account management – both in project financing and financial reporting between the India operating company and the US management company
– Measuring Waste Capital Partners impact and results in its work using an existing sophisticated metric measurement tool
– Creating a monetization strategy for carbon credits from the greenhouse gas mitigation we carry out
– Creating an Impact Bond vertical to work with municipalities, bilaterals, and multilaterals in creating the world’s first waste impact bond
– Providing a makeover to our web presence – website, blog, and social media
– IT Savant – keeping all the moving parts of the company going including a state-of-art Android platform-based impact measurement system and robust Salesforce back-end.
We require a variety of skill sets including:
– Technical expertise and a track record in composting and waste management
– Financial management – both financial planning and accounting systems in the US and/or India
– Metric Measurement – in tracking social, environmental, and financial outcomes
– Carbon Credit and Mitigation Measurement – applying rigorous standards to measurement of greenhouse gas mitigation (in accordance with UNFCCC standard), reporting, financial modeling, and partner development attaining carbon financing
– Prior experience in social impact bonds and/or a mix of financial investment and legal experience that can assist in creating an impact bond
– IT experience including familiarity with Android platforms and Salesforce
– Website development and/or social media experience in capturing the transformation of the cities and people we work with
We find those with a mix of education and/or work experience in Western institutions and emerging markets thrive in our environment.
Experience in top-tier management consulting firms, venture capital, and/or corporate strategy is a strong plus.
