Job Description

Propeller Program Coordinator – Food

Food Program Coordinator Mission: To execute efficiently and smoothly on food accelerator program, sector participation and policy goals, and alumni program and tracking for high-value add, 90%-100% client satisfaction, and venture growth in impact and revenue.

Position Outcomes:

Sector Participation – Food

Knowledge of food security and local food economy – sector industry market forces, up-to-date sector developments, entrepreneurial opportunities, etc.
Identification and development of strong and trusting relationships with sector industry leaders, influencers, stakeholders, policymakers, and entrepreneurs
Participation in sector meetings to represent Propeller and social entrepreneurship interest
Identification of one policy issue per sector, influencers mobilized to change policy, monitoring of policy change progress, and policy change
Healthy School Food Collaborative (HSFC)

Ensure compliance to higher healthy food standards and 5% local procurement initiative within the HSFC
Manage third party evaluation of HSFC with program partner Louisiana Public Health Institute to measure plate waste, consumption, and program effectiveness
Work to increase consumption of healthy foods in the HSFC
Accelerator Recruitment:

Startup Accelerator: Recruitment of 20-40 “good fit” applicants in food security/local food economy
Growth Accelerator: Recruitment of 10-20 “good fit” applicants/sector
Impact Accelerator – Food (Startup and Growth Tracks)

Management of food ventures programming, including Lead Mentor office hour scheduling, monthly cohort meet-ups, sector convenings, Demo Days, coaching office hours, and strategic planning
Ensures 98% high value-add and high satisfaction in all accelerator programming
66% of ventures in Startup Track implement pilot, validate customers, reach social and financial goals, have first paid customers
90% of ventures in Growth Track reach revenue, impact, and financing goals
Impact Tracking and Reporting

Manage and oversee tracking and reporting of accelerator and alumni-wide impact, financial progress, and stories through surveys, incentives, meetings, and events
Support as needed on Salesforce and database maintenance
Alumni Program:

Develop and maintain strong relationships with all alumni
Development and management of high value-add meetings, including quarterly meetings with 100% Alumni program satisfaction
Fund Development

Consistent and positive stewardship of funders in food through regular communications on impact, execution of program deliverables, and regular expressions of appreciation

Follow-through on commitments – Lives up to verbal and written agreements, regardless of personal cost.
Intelligence – Learns quickly. Demonstrates ability to quickly and proficiently understand and absorb new information from new business models, critical relationships, and new sectors.
Analytical skills – Able to structure and process qualitative or quantitative data and draw insightful conclusions from it. Exhibits a probing mind and achieves penetrating insights that can accelerate a business.
Attention to detail – Does not let important details slip through the cracks or derail a project.
Persistence – Demonstrates tenacity and willingness to go the distance to get something done.
Proactivity – Acts without being told what to do. Brings new ideas to the company.
Honesty/integrity – Does not cut corners ethically. Earns trust and maintains confidences. Does what is right, not just what is politically expedient. Speaks plainly and truthfully.

Experience or coursework in food systems and food security
Experience or coursework in public health and/or program evaluation
(preferred) Personal car with valid insurance you are willing to use for occasional errands (with compensation for mileage)
Start Date: Summer 2015 (June – July 2015)

Compensation: $35,000+/year with health, vision, and dental benefits and cell phone stipend.

Hours: Full-time, evening and weekend hours may be requested for events and program meetings.
