Full-Time Grant and Operations Analyst
Job Description
Nonprofit Finance Fund (NFF) has been awarded a federal grant from the Corporation for National Community Service (CNCS) to administer at least $3.6 million from the Social Innovation Fund (SIF) Pay for Success program (PFS). SIF funding will be used to sub-grant funds to state and local governments and nonprofit organizations that are structuring PFS agreements and to support NFF’s knowledge sharing efforts in the PFS field. The Grant & Operations Analyst is a grant-funded position that is anticipated to last between two and three years.
The Grant & Operations Analyst will report to the Operations Director and provide financial compliance administration for a new project comprised of both private and federal funding, with federal pass-through funding to 12 to 20 sub-grantees selected through multiple competitive application processes anticipated to occur over the next two to three years.
This position will also have monitoring and reporting duties tied to match reporting requirements for both NFF’s administration of the award and the match compliance for each sub-grantee.
S/he will be primarily responsible for grant budget management and releases, including preparation of monthly budget to actual reports, financial compliance of sub-grantees and financial reporting and match-fund reporting. In this role, the Grant & Operations Analyst will ensure integrity between grant budgets, spending plans, time tracking systems, accounting systems and sources of government grant and match funds.
S/he will work closely with the Grants and Operations Associate and NFF’s Finance team and will liaise closely with the Grant Program Director and Grant program staff.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
The Grant & Operations Analyst will:
Monitor NFF and grantee spending, ensure compliance with the approved budget, suggest and prepare requests for budget modifications (as needed).
Prepare financial reports to funding agencies and reconcile reports with the accounts payable department.
Review and approve sub-grants and consultant disbursement requests and track spend-down of grant funds by sub-grantees and consultants.
Conduct financial analysis and prepare detailed reports for senior management on status of government and private grants.
Provide specialized financial management technical assistance and problem solving support to NFF relationship managers working with sub-grantees to ensure that all sub-grants are spent in compliance with requirements of Federal government grant.
Collect and track information on private match required for government grant and matches provided by sub-grantee partners.
Provide technical assistance to sub-grantees on financial compliance and match-fund reporting.
Review program requests to be funded with government funds for acceptance of costs and compliance with specific grant requirements and applicable OMB regulations.
Manage and monitor compliance with federal regulations about grant reporting.
Ensure all sub-grants are properly closed out.
Support continuation of funding applications, as required by federal government agency.
Prepare specialized financial reports for funders and management as necessary.
Perform other duties as needed.
Essential Requirements for Education and/or Experience:
The successful candidate will possess the following:
An undergraduate degree with a focus in Business/Public Administration or a in a related field.
Minimum of at least two (2) or more years of relevant experience.
Experience collaborating with a wide range of government and nonprofit partners.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
Keen attention to detail and is very well organized.
Excellent computer skills, including demonstrated competency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Adobe.
Ability to handle confidential information and/or issues where using discretion and judgment will be crucial.
Excellent financial analysis and reporting skills.
Strong time management and multi-tasking abilities.
Ability to work in a self-directed manner and effectively with a team.
Demonstrated interest in social impact investing and community development.
Specialized Knowledge/Beneficial Skills and Experience:
Solid knowledge of federal government grant regulations, including federal OMB Circulars.
Familiarity with Salesforce
Familiarity with Blackbaud.
