You’ll work with our team to (1) develop and manage a pipeline of grant opportunities and (2) produce grant proposals and status reports – work which is critical to achieving our mission.

Pacific Community Ventures is a non-profit social enterprise located in San Francisco. We engage small businesses, investors and policymakers to create good jobs for working people and build an economy that works for everyone.

Our approach is unique. Our Small Business Advising & Lending programs connect entrepreneurs to the expertise and capital they need to grow their businesses and create good jobs. Our Impact Advisory practice conducts research and evaluation so that investors and policy-makers will drive more capital to social good. Our approaches are scalable and create systemic change — yet are implemented in ways that are relevant to particular local economies — a truly “think globally/act locally” philosophy.

We’re seeking a strategic thinker who is an outstanding writer and communicator, who is excited about researching and managing a pipeline of funding opportunities, and who thrives when working across all levels and areas of an organization.

This position will work very closely with the President and CEO, the Chief Financial / Chief Credit officer and the leaders of our Small Business and Impact Advisory programs. This is a wonderful opportunity for a quick learner to gain experience in the fields of impact investing and community economic development.

Specific Responsibilities:

Create and manage a pipeline of grant opportunities from multiple sources including foundations, government, and financial institutions
• Manage and maintain PCVs list of existing funding partners with grant proposal and status report deadlines.
• Continually research and monitor new fundraising & grant-making initiatives that might be relevant to PCV so that we are always on the forefront of new fundraising opportunities.
• Participate alongside members of our Leadership Team in meetings with funders and potential funders, as requested

Produce grant proposals and status reports
• For each potential funding opportunity, work with our Leadership Team to develop a grant strategy and budget, write proposals, and submit the grant.
• For each grant secured, write grant status reports and manage a calendar of report due dates, including assessing the information required and coordinating the internal resources to ensure reports are submitted on time.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

• Passionate about social enterprise, community economic development and / or impact investing.
• An outstanding writer able to succinctly and persuasively communicate to multiple audiences.
• Smart, organized, and proactive professional able to effectively manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Self-starter with lots of initiative who also works well in a team.
• At least three years’ experience in grant writing, development or other relevant field.
• Demonstrated project management experience.
• Proficiency with MS Office suite and experience with SalesForce.
• College degree.
