Full-Time Operations & Finance Associate

Job Description

We are looking for an Operations & Finance Associate to join our team at Dimagi in India. The Operations & Finance Associate will manage a broad spectrum of functions, supporting day-to-day operations, financial management, and logistics, and executing operations workflows across procurement, vendor management, travel, payroll, billing, and invoicing. As a member of the global Operations team, this role will require additional ongoing coordination and collaboration with a multi-cultural, global team of Operations staff across all Dimagi offices. More broadly, this position with Dimagi in India offers a unique opportunity to support innovation in community health and development in 17 states and across Asia. The Operations & Finance Associate will report directly to the Director of Operations, India, based in New Delhi, and be employed by our Indian entity, Dimagi Software Innovations (DSI).

We are located in Vasant Vihar, New Delhi and offer a casual working environment with flexible hours. Dimagi currently has other offices in Cambridge, USA; Cape Town, South Africa; Dakar, Senegal; as well as permanent staff based in Myanmar, Zambia, Guatemala, and Mozambique. While this position is based in India, there is potential international travel from time to time to one of our country offices based on business needs. Given our social mission, our budgeted salary scale is more in-line with that of a non-profit organization and exact compensation will vary by level of experience.

This position is suited for someone looking to grow and build a career with Dimagi; as such, we are looking for a 2 year commitment, though employment is conditional upon our at-will employment agreement.

Roles and Responsibilities:

Operations
 Execute back-office processes across different areas of Operations, e.g. travel processes for employees, closed contract checklist
 Revise and update company systems and procedures to facilitate a high, consistent level of efficiency and performance across operations tasks (we currently use internal wikis and other web-based clients to manage our workflows and improve accountability)
 Documentation of Operations-facing workflows for Ops team and other employees on internal wiki

Finance
 Manage day-to-day execution of accounts payable and receivable in coordination with Bookkeeper and Director of Operations
 Support Director of Operations in internal financial review on a weekly, monthly, and quarterly basis
 Support Director of Operations in maintaining financial compliance including audit preparations, local tax filings, etc.
 Depending on fit, there are significant opportunities to expand Finance responsibilities

General Office Management
 Tasks related to procurement, vendor management, and inventory management at DSI
 Ensure consistency in office systems and procedures across the company
 Execution of office administration tasks in conjunction with the rest of Operations team and office support staff (e.g. occasionally re-stocking office supplies, answering the door, troubleshooting if office internet is down)

The ideal candidate would:
• Want to work for a social enterprise with the potential for long-term employment in operations based in Delhi.
• Have a Bachelor’s Degree from a reputed university with 1-2 years previous experience in an office environment (accounting/finance or operations experience ideal)
• Be computer savvy, highly organized, highly detail-oriented
• Have excellent MS Office skills (at least intermediate Excel skills)
• Be familiar with Windows, Skype, Google Apps, Dropbox, and wikis (accounting software such as Tally or QuickBooks a plus)
• Have the ability to pick up new computer software programs such as Salesforce and Intacct
• Be intellectually curious with a passion for problem-solving, efficiency, and an ability to identify and lead on priority operations tasks
• Thrive in a fast-paced environment (wearing many hats and managing several tasks at once)
• Be a clear communicator across multiple channels including email, voice, face-to-face
• Enjoy working in a young, collegial, and collaborative environment, and want to contribute to an organization trying to make a difference in International Development
• Have demonstrated excellence, integrity, and commitment
• Fluency in English, with fluency in Hindi a plus

Compensation & Benefits:
• Between 3.9 and 6.7 lakh per annum, commensurate upon experience and fit
