Waste Capital Partners employs low-income individuals to environmentally process waste and then sell the compost to farmers. We are not content in creating a profitable venture, we create waste picker livelihoods, prevent 90% of waste we sort from being dumped, reduce greenhouse gases, and increase agricultural productivity. We are a Silicon Valley management company with operations in India and, soon, in other global locations. We just raised a round of finance and now seek an ambitious impact-oriented leader to join our start-up.
The Position
Waste Capital Partners is hiring a Principal to manage its India portfolio and oversee its South Asia expansion. This will include overseeing Waste Capital Partners’ investment into Waste Ventures India and its creation of Waste Ventures Nepal. The state of Andhra Pradesh has mandated Waste Capital Partners to handle 44 municipalities and we currently have a waitlist of 20 cities. The Principal will select and oversee the creation of ten municipal projects this year to make Waste Capital Partners one of the largest waste management providers in India
Primary Responsibilities
• Design and then execute strategic initiatives with Waste Ventures India’s management to expand scope and profitability
• Work with Waste Ventures India’s COO to set Key Performance Indicators for Waste Ventures India and ensure operational goals are met
• Cultivate high level relationships with officials and business partners
• Develop a group of advisors that can provide guidance and connections in South Asia to foster growth
• Oversee recruitment of necessary human resources for expansion
• In the long term, prepare and cultivate Indian/ South Asian investor relationships to invest in further rounds of financing
• Proactively communicate with Waste Capital Partners USA on challenges, analysis, and solutions pertaining to India

Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree required, graduate degree preferred
• Minimum 10 years professional experience – Venture Capital and/or Management Consulting experience is a plus
• Business background preferred, including demonstrated comfort with financial planning and management
• Mix of Western and emerging markets work or educational experience is a plus
• Work experience in solid waste management is not required
• Prefer to work with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly creating and interpreting information in Microsoft Excel is required
Location
The position is based in Andhra Pradesh, India.
Compensation
Compensation is commensurate with experience. Waste Capital Partners offers a competitive package with stock options. There is significant room for advancement.
