About us:

FoodFutureCo is the first scale-up accelerator for purpose-driven food businesses, including but not limited to companies that deal in: consumer products, supply chain, food hubs, food tech, ag tech, and SaaS. With two cycles per year, FoodFutureCo accelerates 8 to 12 businesses annually with particular focus on companies that hold promise to change the future of food.

FoodFutureCo was started in 2016 by Shen Tong, whose previous accelerator, Food-X, was recognized as one of the ten most innovative companies in food.

You will learn how to work with a small team while deepening your understanding of social entrepreneurship, and expand your knowledge of start-up businesses.

Position Summary:  

This position will be responsible for effective and well-managed accelerator programs and fund activity in support of the manager and managing partner at Food Future.  This is a rare and unique opportunity to be in the core team of a new model of business that is creating lasting impact on the food solutions, economies and systems of our future.

The Program Coordinator will have exposure and interact with thought leaders in food, sustainable agriculture, health, wellness and technology while undertaking a variety of program management, operational and community building responsibilities including, but not limited to event production, recruiting and admissions, accelerator programming, and follow-on portfolio management for companies that have gone through the accelerator.  You will help in planning and organizing programs, events, and activities as well as carry out important operational duties. Essential functions:

  • Business Development:
      • Work with fund team to conduct potential investor research and outreach to existing and potential investors
      • Analyze weekly KPI’s for fund team and support Manager in developing strategy
      • Identify and organize events for managing partner and companies to attend or speak at
  • Program Coordination:
      • Support and maintain strong relationships with companies mentors, advisors, EIRs and other members of the Food Future network
      • Identify potential partnership opportunities for events, co-hosting spaces, and sponsorships
      • Identify, recruit and manage relationships with accelerator companies and mentors
      • Assist with pairing of mentors and companies, based on company needs and mentors’ subject matter expertise
  • Marketing:
      • Manage marketing strategy and community building on Food Future’s social media platforms
      • Create and disseminate monthly company newsletters, updates, and blasts
      • Create and maintain website material
  • Operations:
    • Ensure technology is used correctly for all operations (video conferencing, presentations etc.)
    • Streamline onboarding, performance management and talent development processes; assist with hiring of fellows
    • Maintain company software and platforms used for HR, recruiting, and relationship management
    • Organize and streamline company file structure
    • Create and update Standard Operating Procedures as needed
    • Other office administrative duties as required

Minimum Qualifications:

  • BSc/BA in Business, Finance, or other relevant degree
  • 1-2 years of experience in a program coordinator function or relevant position, preferably in a startup environment
  • Experience conducting outreach or fundraising using a CRM system
  • Experience developing and disseminating marketing content
  • Experience communicating with diverse stakeholders with different cultural and professional backgrounds
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Tech savvy, proficient in MS Office
  • Strong Excel and Powerpoint skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in Business, VC, PE, Social Entrepreneurship
  • Data analysis skills
