Position Description
VOICE is seeking a Curriculum Development Associate who will assist with the development of materials for VOICE 4 Girls’ core programming initiatives and other associated tasks. The key roles and tasks are given below:

• Evaluation of existing VOICE programming and making recommendations for improvement and development.
• Creating curriculum and content, which outlines exactly how to implement VOICE programming—from how to train teachers, facilitate the activities to how to run the camp or a yearlong program.
• Development of innovative and low-cost training material.

1. Curriculum Design and Development

Her VOICE (girls only) Summer Camp
• Analyze feedback from stakeholder focus groups as well as written reports. Assess feedback from previous camp year and make recommendations for revision as well as map new content for additional chapters.
• Research, outline, and write additional camp chapters on leadership and life-skills. Create activity-based curriculum that can be implemented with minimal resources using innovative ways to cut costs but remain active. Ensure content is regionally relevant.
• Develop English content in the areas of grammar, vocabulary and spoken English.

United VOICE (one-week co-ed) Camp
• Research best practices for mixed gender programming and education.
• Create a framework for United VOICE and map topics for the program.
• Research, outline, and write chapters for the program.
• Conduct focus groups after program is implemented and revise as needed.

Sakhi Peer Leadership Program
• Monitor and evaluate the program in residential schools in Andhra Pradesh.
• Make recommendations for revisions and improve the program.
• Write new chapters for the program and adapt existing content depending on the need.
• Conduct focus groups after program is implemented and revise as needed.

2. Training

• Help conduct/analyze feedback from teacher and counselor focus groups based on camp experiences and previous training.
• Use curriculum to create framework for training and develop training modules.
• Create innovative ways to bring training to teachers and counselors (use of technology/peer to peer training/etc).
• Develop train the trainer modules
• Incorporate technology into training.

Requirements for Candidates:
• Recent/current undergraduate or graduate student who will be graduating by at least June 2014
• Ability to commit to 40 hours of work/week
• Strong English oral and written communication skills
• Strong creative writing skills
• Outstanding organizational skills and work ethic
• Strong MS Word skills

Desired Criteria for Candidates:
• Ability to think independently and be proactive without constant supervision
• Passion for gender development and empowering adolescent girls
• Knowledge of issues pertaining to the development and education of girls
• Experience in the field of education
