Chiang Mai Rock Climbing Adventures (CMRCA) is seeking an experienced Program Director to oversee the sales, development and delivery of all adventure-based and experiential education programs and experiences. CMRCA offers dynamic and innovative experiences that inspire participants to learn about themselves; engage meaningfully with local cultures and communities, and adventure in the outdoors while limiting impact on our environment.

The Program Director is a key role in the organization, providing leadership in mentoring personal and professional development, collaborating across managerial functions, creating cultural interactions with local Thai communities, and ensuring that programming is aligned with CMRCA’s vision, mission and core values.

We are seeking a passionate and energetic professional that is interested in joining a vibrant and diverse outdoor community and brings a sense of adventure to his/her work.

Create your experience…

– Design, implement and communicate the strategy and vision of experiential education, corporate training, and adventure programs and services.

– Ensure the overall safety and quality of all programs and experiences according to international standards, including training, risk management, and quality assurance.

– Steward the development of collaborative partnerships with local organizations, nonprofits, and communities.

– Oversee the creation and implementation of sales strategy by cultivating and developing relationships with current and potential client partners.

– Lead the development and implementation of high intentioned curriculum that link locations with adventure, leadership and cultural exploration experiences.

– Coach and mentor a team of guides, facilitators, coordinators and managers to ensure organizational priorities and strategy are being met while creating opportunities for personal and professional development within the organization.

– Direct the recruitment, training and management of contract and full-time facilitators, guides, instructors, and all other programming staff.

– Work with the Finance Department to develop and maintain the annual programming budget.

– Direct the marketing strategy of the department and collaborate with the Marketing Department to ensure program branding and digital marketing maintains consistency.

– Represent CMRCA at sales and networking meetings, conferences and trade shows.

A successful candidate will have…

– Undergraduate degree (or equivalent experience)

– Demonstrated knowledge of strategic planning, program development, and trends in the fields of outdoor adventure and experiential education.

– Knowledge of Customer Relationship Management and strategic partnership development.

– Proven ability to empower and develop others through mentoring and coaching.

– Proven ability to work effectively with people from different cultures and backgrounds.

– Advanced communication (both written and verbal) and presentation skills.

– Analytical and creative problem solving skills.

– Commitment to innovation, collaboration and striving for excellence.

– Strong organizational skills with capability to prioritize tasks and schedule multiple projects.

– Basic understanding of finance.

– Experience working in Asia specifically working with local communities.

– Background in facilitation, team building and leadership development.

– Personal or professional experience with rock climbing, caving, trekking and orienteering.

– Wilderness First Responder or Wilderness Advanced First Aid certification

– Thai language skills
