JOB DESCRIPTION
We are a small office in the US supporting a team of 75 in Kenya, and we have an energetic, cross-cultural spirit. We are seeking an experienced and responsible (manager or self-starter) to direct and oversee our US based finance, administration and operations.
This is your opportunity to use your business and organizational skills for a bold new challenge: to dramatically improve maternal health care in Africa. You will work directly with the Executive Director in the US, and work hand in hand with our Finance Director in Kenya and the Board Treasurer.
Specifically, your responsibilities will include:
• Oversee U.S. financial operations, including oversight of accounting and bookkeeping functions, reporting, audit oversight.
• Prepare, for Executive Director and Board of Directors, relevant consolidated financial reports including statement of activities, balance sheet, and cash budget projections.
• Work closely with the Director of Finance for the solely owned Kenya Jacaranda Health Limited to understand operations, present consolidated statements and budgets, and prepare financial analysis for decision making.
• Research, develop and implement systems for tracking and reporting operations in US and in partnership with Kenya; these will include donors, foundations, researchers, and partners that align and support the Jacaranda Health mission.
• Manage human resources in the US, with oversight of all pay, benefits, and systems, as well as talent management and recruitment.
• Insure that all regulatory reports are filed on time and with accuracy.
• Oversee the reporting of progress against both short term and long term goals and outputs and outcomes for Jacaranda Health
• Build excellent financial systems and controls; drive cycles of forecasting and budgeting.
• Oversee IT and basic administration

Qualifications:
• Strong business generalist, international experience very helpful
• Accounting background of at least five years, with core understanding of non profit accounting
• Experience with both Quickbooks and mid level accounting systems
• Experience with database and CRM systems
• BS or BA degree required, with MBA or CPA experience preferred

• 80% time preferred
