Location: San Francisco, California

Job Type: Volunteer

Hours: 10-20 hours per week (flexible schedule; can work from remote location)

We are seeking an experienced Grant Writer to help our organization expand by researching and applying for grants.

Background
Jacaranda Health is a new nonprofit organization working to set new standards for maternity care in East Africa by combining business and clinical innovations to provide affordable maternity and reproductive health services to low income urban women. We currently run two clinics, mobile clinic services, and research programs. We are growing rapidly, including our small US staff and operations and seek a smart and proactive person to support our organization part time. Position Description
We are looking for a candidate that has experience in grant writing who will volunteer on a part-time basis with our organization. The desired candidate would be needed to act in the following capacities:
Drafting and editing grant proposals
Researching prospective donors and funders
Assisting the Executive Director and Finance and Operations Director as needed on upcoming and existing projects

Desired Qualifications
Excellent track-record of technical writing skills, including the ability to self-edit
Desirable: previous grant-writing experience, knowledge of global health
Excellent organizational skills and the ability to meet deadlines
Passion for improving the health of mothers and children in East Africa
