Job Description

Position Title: Regional Director of Programs
Reports To: Chief Operations Officer
Schedule: Monday through Friday, evenings and weekends as needed
FLSA Designation: Exempt

JOB SUMMARY: The Regional Director is responsible for all aspects of program operations, service delivery, and program evaluation including program design and fidelity; human resource, operations, and fiscal management; community development; training; compliance and leadership of change and improvement efforts. A capable and seasoned leader, the Regional Director ensures highest quality of services, that all programs meet or exceed outcome goals, and provides leadership congruent with agency policy, values and mission.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Human Resources: recruits, selects, orients, trains, assigns, schedules, coaches, counsels assigned employees to achieve program results and highest quality services. Enforces policy, communicates job expectations, plans, monitors and appraises performance, Review and recommend compensation actions. Provides clinical leadership including direct clinical supervision of staff.

Operations: Leads projects and program implementation ensuring quality, productivity and services delivery standards. Resolves problems, completes audits, identifies trends and recommends, determines and implements system improvements. Achieves or exceeds operational objectives by contributing information and recommendations to strategic plans and reviews, preparing and completing actions, managing assigned projects. Leads and manages improvement and change efforts. Participates agency-wide workgroups and projects as assigned. Responsible for all aspects of program including physical plant, safety, compliance, service delivery, program enhancement, growth and reputation, and stakeholder relationships. Provides management reports as assigned.

Fiscal: Meets financial objectives by forecasting requirements, preparing and recommending annual budget, scheduling expenditures, analyzing variances and initiating corrective actions. Includes keen attention to vacancy, census, staffing and other metrics to ensure fiscal health of program. Provides reports as assigned.

Community Development: Represents agency interest and advances agency reputation with external stake holders including partners, sub-contractors, county agencies and others. Collaboratively explores and recommends program and contract improvement and change.

Leadership: Collaborates and communicates effectively throughout organization. Exemplifies and promotes standards of high achievement. Recommends strategic and program improvement through participation on assigned program leadership team. Participates on agency-wide committees and workgroups as assigned.

Training and Compliance: Ensures program meets or exceeds all regulatory and contract requirements including development of formal training program for staff.

Professional Development: Updates job knowledge continually through reading, continuing education, and other opportunities.

Other Duties: as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:
•MA/MSW required. LCSW or MFT with two years post-licensure experience preferred.
•Two years of supervisory/management experience required; relevant leadership experience may be considered.
•At least one year of residential, milieu, or wraparound experience preferred.

About First Place for Youth
Founded in 1998, First Place for Youth was the first program in Northern California dedicated to providing critical support to transition-age foster youth and has grown to become the state’s largest provider of housing for this highly vulnerable population. The organization is recognized nationally for developing high-impact and efficient programs to serve current and former foster youth, ages 16-24.

First Place provides youth with access to safe, affordable housing, intensive case management, individualized education and employment support, job development and a rigorous school-to-career program.
