JOB DESCRIPTION OVERVIEW

The Special Assistant (SA) to the President/CEO serves as the chief of staff, the lead liaison between department heads and interfaces with clients, partners and other external audiences. The SA is our specialist for driving smooth operations and continuous innovation and improvement in a fast-paced start-up environment.

The SA provides advanced, wide-ranging and strategic, operational, administrative and programmatic support to the President/CEO and management team. As an advisor and strategist, the SA leads and executes critical communications, data analysis and presentations, and the planning and execution of various programs and initiatives. The ideal candidate is mission-driven, a creative and critical thinker, a quick-study and works well independently and collaboratively.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Chief-of-Staff
*Plays a vital role in day-to-day operations by maximizing the President/CEO’s time to best achieve the organization’s goals.
*Acts as the first point of contact and liaison between the President/CEO and everyone else, including but not limited to, interfacing with the management team, clients, accounting and human resources vendors, partners, school-based staff etc.
*Acts as a key point of contact for legal, accounting and human resources vendors/consultants
*Exercises significant discretion to manage-up and ensure the smooth functioning of the President/CEO’s schedule, travel and correspondence, as well as determining what issues require the President/CEO’s involvement or notification.
*Plans and facilitates regular staff meetings to help achieve optimal cross-departmental communication and collaboration.
*Works collaboratively with the President/CEO’s Executive Assistant as necessary

Research, Analysis, Project Management
*Ensures that President/CEO receives appropriate preparation for daily activities including providing research, background and briefing materials.
*Supports the President/CEO in driving continuous improvement and tracking progress on culinary and operational goals/objectives.
*Assists in developing a dashboard to track in real-time data/metrics to evaluate programmatic effectiveness and client satisfaction.
*Leads planning and execution of special projects takes an idea from concept to completion.
*Reports, analyzes and presents data/metrics to the President/CEO, management team and clients on a weekly and monthly basis.
*Writing and Communications
*Ensures that communications, written, verbal, and electronic, from the President/CEO and the management team to external audiences are of the highest quality.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

*Graduate degree in business, public health, public administration or a related field.
*Mission-driven team player with a positive attitude, strong work ethic and the willingness to pitch in and support colleagues.
*A passion for health and strong interest in wellness.
*Self-motivated, able to lead and be a proactive problem solver in a start-up environment.
*Excellent communication and interpersonal skills including written, phone, electronic and in-person.
*Must be technology savvy, including but not limited to, excellent PowerPoint/Prezi or other presentation software skills and excellent Excel skills for basic data analysis, pivot tables etc.
*Proficient with project management and team collaboration tools such as Slack, DropBox, Google Drive, Trello etc.
*Basic familiarly with finance operations.
*Impeccable attention to detail, organizational skills and time management.
*Effective at engaging with and building trusting relationships with a wide-range of people always with customer service, respect and compassion at the forefront.
*Able to prioritize and manage multiple projects and connect details to the bigger picture.
*Ability to work in a continuously changing environment that demands flexibility and good.
*Works well independently and collaboratively.
*Willingness to engage in continuous learning and training.
