Full-Time US Programs Director

Job Description

Job Description: Responsible for the overall management, visioning, strategizing, and implementation of United States Programs

Responsibilities:

• Develops cohesive strategy and vision for the US Program that includes local and national, as well as school-based and extra-curricular, elements
• Oversees strategic recruitment, selection, and preparation processes for youth and educators in the US and international programs, in consult with relevant staff, partners, and Camp Leadership
• Oversees design and execution of year-round activities for Junior Seeds, and manages staff and partnerships where relevant
• Develops strategic partnerships and community relationships that add programmatic value or support for Seeds and/or Seeds of Peace
• Works with Camp Leadership to strategically connect Camp with local programming
• Works with the Educator Programs team to recruit and engage educators in Camp and local activities
• Works with alumni team to engage American Seeds ages 18+
• Works with development team to secure funding and cultivate relationships with donors both locally and nationally
• Manages school relationships and partnerships
• Provides day-to-day management and leadership for program staff
• Prepares and manages annual budgets
• Ensures full and timely compliance from coordinators and staff with all administrative and financial procedures
• Develops programmatic and financial reports for all key initiatives
• Acts as the voice of the program by ensures consistent communication of local activities and programs to appropriate staff and departments, and external stakeholders.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in a related area
• Minimum of four (4) years of experience in youth development, social justice, peace-building and/or related fields
• Experience in identity-based dialogue and direct action here in the United States
• Experience leading and managing multiple staff members
• Willingness to travel throughout the United States and to countries where Seeds of Peace programs are planned
• Ability to work and manage staff virtually
• Ability to work with a culturally and ethnically diverse staff
• Exhibits a passion for working with young people
• Ability to facilitate groups, a plus
• Willingness to work on weekend days and after hours for program implementation, if necessary
• Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office) required
• Pays attention to details and follows up on tasks
• Believes in fostering a collaborative and team-based approach
